Flower Engineered To Produce Insulin.
Popular Science (2/3, Fox) reports that researchers that the University of Calgary have "genetically engineered the human gene for insulin into the common plant safflower," which is capable of "producing insulin faster than traditional methods." The plant is capable of producing "2.2 pounds of insulin per acre of flowers," according to the report.
